A little bit about us At Wildlife in Need, our mission is driven by a profound commitment to safeguarding and nurturing the diverse wildlife that surrounds us. Every action we take is guided by the following core principles:
HELPING

Helping All Wildlife to the Best of Our Ability:

Our foremost priority is to provide the highest level of care and support to every creature that comes our way. Whether it's a tiny, vulnerable fledgling or a majestic bird of prey, we dedicate our skills and resources to their wellbeing.

HONESTY

Acting Responsibly with Integrity and Honesty:

We operate with a deep sense of responsibility, ensuring that our decisions and actions reflect the highest standards of integrity. Transparency and honesty are at the heart of everything we do, as we strive to earn the trust of those we work with and serve.

SUPPORTIVE

Creating a Collaborative and Supportive Environment:

Our organisation thrives on the strength of our volunteers, who come together in a collaborative and nurturing environment. We believe that by supporting one another, we can achieve greater success in our shared goal of protecting wildlife.

SUSTAINABLE

Building a Long-Term, Sustainable Future:

As a not-for-profit organisation, we are deeply committed to sustainability. We focus on building a future where our efforts can continue to make a positive impact on wildlife conservation for generations to come.

KINDNESS

Marvelling at the Beauty of Nature and the Kindness of Strangers:

We are constantly inspired by the natural world and the generosity of those who support our cause. Every day, we are reminded of the incredible beauty of nature and the compassion of people who, like us, care deeply about the welfare of animals.

A Small Organisation
with a Big Heart

Although we may be small in size, our dedication and expertise enable us to care for an incredibly wide range of wildlife. Our team is skilled in providing specialised care to a diverse array of species, including:

Birds of Prey:
  • Eagles, hawks, and falcons that require expert handling and care
Owls and Corvids:
  • From barn owls to ravens, we ensure these intelligent creatures receive the attention they need.
Gamebirds and Garden Birds:
  • Pheasants, robins, and other familiar birds that grace our countryside and gardens.
Gulls and Migratory Birds:
  • Species that travel vast distances and need safe havens during their journeys.
Pigeons and Waterfowl:
  • Urban dwellers and aquatic birds alike, including swans, geese, ducks, and other wild water birds
Mammals
  • Hedgehogs, foxes, mice, rabbits, hares, rats, and voles, all of which require specialised care.

One aspect that sets us apart is our commitment to caring for migratory and water birds—species that many wildlife charities may not typically handle. We understand the unique needs of these birds and are proud to offer them the care they require during critical times in their lives.

If you have a question about an animal not mentioned here, please do not hesitate to ask. While we do not usually take in deer or badgers, we can refer you to the RSPCA or other specialised organisations that can provide the appropriate care.

At Wildlife in Need, every day is an opportunity to make a difference, and we are grateful for the support of those who share our passion for wildlife conservation. Together, we can continue to protect and celebrate the incredible creatures that inhabit our world.

We are proud to work with local and national wildlife organisations
