Your Kind Donations Make This Happen
The Lifeline of Our Wildlife Rescue Centre: Your Donations at WorkAt our wildlife rescue centre, the kindness and generosity of the public are the driving forces behind everything we do. Unlike many organisations, we operate entirely on donations from people who care about wildlife as much as we do. These contributions are not just financial gifts; they are lifelines that enable us to continue our vital work in rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing injured and sick wildlife.
What Do Your Donations Cover?
Your donations cover a wide range of essential needs:
- Food for Animals: Every day, we care for a variety of wildlife, from small birds and hedgehogs to larger animals like foxes. Providing species-appropriate, nutritious food is one of our largest ongoing expenses.
- Medical Supplies: Injured animals require immediate medical attention. Donations help us stock up on medicines, bandages, and other essential supplies that are crucial for their recovery.
- Shelter and Care: We maintain safe, warm, and comfortable environments for our wildlife. Donations go towards the upkeep of these shelters, ensuring they are suitable for the wide range of animals we care for.
- Transportation: Many animals are brought to us from far and wide, and some need to be transported to specialised veterinary clinics. Donations help cover the costs of fuel, vehicle maintenance, and transportation logistics.
- Volunteer Support: While our team is entirely made up of dedicated volunteers, donations help us provide them with the tools and resources they need to do their jobs effectively.
Why Your Support Matters
Without public support, our ability to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife would be severely limited. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a significant impact. It allows us to provide food, medical care, and a safe environment for the animals that need it most. Your generosity directly contributes to saving lives and giving injured wildlife a second chance.
We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from our community. Your donations not only keep our centre running but also send a powerful message that we, as a society, value and protect our wildlife.
Thank you for making a difference.
What Do Our Birds Eat?
Feeding the many birds in our care is a significant undertaking, and we rely entirely on food donations to keep them well-nourished and healthy.
Among the favourite foods of our feathered friends are live mealworms and waxworms. These nutrient-rich insects are especially vital for tiny fledglings and sick birds, as they are easy to swallow and packed with the proteins needed for recovery and growth.
For our smaller birds and garden species, a specialised food called Orlux Uni Patee is a staple. It provides the essential nutrients these birds need to stay strong and thrive.
Meanwhile, our seagulls and other marine birds have a hearty appetite for sprats and fish. These high-protein foods keep our larger birds energised and in good health.
Every donation of food makes a tremendous difference, ensuring that our birds receive the proper nutrition they need each day. Your generosity helps us continue to care for these wonderful creatures.
Consider making a small donation today to support our vital work and help cover our running costs. Your generosity makes a huge difference.

Our Amazon Wish List offers an easy and impactful way to support our work. We are always in need of mealworms and waxworms, and our hungry seabirds eagerly devour fish. Additionally, we go through large quantities of pigeon grain and duck pellets to keep everyone well-fed.

Please note that Amazon does not inform us of who has made a donation, so we’d greatly appreciate a quick email to let us know to expect your generous gift.
Support our mission to construct 10 new aviaries at the Sanctuary in 2024.
We aim to raise £11,000 to build durable, easy-to-maintain rehabilitation and soft release enclosures that will accommodate over 300 birds. The soft release area will also free up much-needed space for new arrivals in intensive care.
Here's how you can really help:
We use our GoFundMe account to fund special projects, such as covering veterinary bills and constructing new aviaries, which require ongoing protection from the elements and vermin, along with regular maintenance.
We also need significant funds for essential supplies like straw for bedding and specialised live food, such as mealworms for songbirds and fish for gulls. Your contribution will directly impact our ability to care for and rehabilitate these birds.
